The Blog

Hellope!!

And this, I guess, is the first blog post for my neocities site, and thank YOU for checking it out! I've not really written any blog posts before, so this is definitly something new for me (what I'm trying to say is I might suck at the good writ from of the word to electronic manuscript). So, for this blog post, I thought I'd try to explain the format that I expect to keep for any following posts (and later apply them)!

The primary topic that I want to talk about in these, is recapping a month of my life; which subsequently will mean that a new blog post should be expected around the end or after the month's done. The actual recap should contain everything from art/projects I've been working on, in-real-life events, and or just random thoughts I've had in the month that I want to share! I do not know how easy it will be to follow (and write around) these guidelines I've set, and I don't want to just pad posts out to make them seem fuller with "content". There's a lot of unknowns, but that general format I'll try to follow.

So now, I guess we can do a retrospective on October:

October was a pretty good month for me, nothing really disasterous personally happened to me that would make me think "holy shit, October 2025 was ASS". Art-wise I feel like I didn't draw (or at least finish) much, which has been a pretty consistent theme since start of summer. The heat and lack of much stimuli just- fried my brain and creativity. I hate summer. However, in the last week or so I think I'm getting over it! More generally, though my output hasn't been too much in quantity, I have been more happy with the quality of it! For a couple months now I've been experimenting with a new pixel art drawing technique that I've seen some other artists use for a while. Prior, I used to draw rough sketches -> outlines -> color, but now I've tried out going with the sketches -> color -> outlines route. I quite enjoy working like this, and I yeah idk what it's called but it works for me!

For the actual pieces, I'm gonna actually include one from September the 29th as well just for rounding off.

The guy!!

Dae! Or whatever name I decide on calling her (the lore is still evolving alr). I swear, since I've been drawing her, not ONE drawing has had the same design. I'm just not exactly sure what I want her to look like, I feel like I'm getting closer though. One thing that I did want to change was the skin texture: I think a more 'mummified' skin would probably fit more, than the liquidy skin I got for her there.

I've had this character for a while now, and decided to draw her again. I've adjusted her bodypaint pattern a bit and though I quite like this design more, I feel with the actual drawing I kinda didn't get the exact anatomy that I would've wanted for her. I'm really happy with the colors at least though so! Also she follows a long tradition of me just not naming characters, so uhh yeah.

The guy!!

The most recent drawing, what can I say. I wanted to try out drawing le stone, but then, le imagination = make anthro. It's just a natural process probably.

I think that wraps it up for the most part with all (public) drawings.

In real life, I bought some physical games... ALL with gift cards. Okay so, first I managed to find a $50 GameStop gift card in an old wallet of mine, which probably hadn't been used/opened in a good half decade. I bought a couple of their 'retro' games on their online site and: I was kinda(?) dissapointed. I got Rayman: Origins, Crash Team Racing, and Scribblenauts DS, loose without their case which sucks. I did get Rayman: Legends and Gran Turismo 2 complete-in-box though! I don't really like GameStop, not only because their CEO is a bigot, but also in general their prices are pretty ehhh for what you're getting. But I had to use the gift card so I did! I also had some other gift cards for a local second hand chain, which I spent on CDs and again, video games! The three cds I got were The Soup Dragons' Love God, Muse's Origin of Symmetry (which I've already listened to before), and the Denison/Kimball Trio's soundtrack for Walls In The City. The latter is the one which I've listened through completely, and I gotta say, I really dig it! It's a sort of post-rock/jazz thingy, really cool. In regards to the video games I got: Borderlands for the PS3, Bioshock 2 for the PS3, Bioshock Infinite for the PS3, Fallout 3 for the PS3, Tekken 3 for the PS1. All have completely functioning discs which is good, but some are missing their manuals or were kinda dirty ew. Regardless, am happy (and that's why you save your gift cards kids)

Otherwise, I dunno. I got a 100% on my Intro to Linguistics Midterm which rules.

And yeah, I guess that's it. Shoutout to Jerma985.
